The Workshop

Vermouth is a type of fortified wine infused with botanicals, making it wonderfully aromatic. It's a key ingredient in classic cocktails like the Negroni and Martini. It can be made from red or white wine, and can be as sweet or dry as you want.

In this workshop, participants will learn to identify different types of vermouth and their distinctive flavours. They'll blend their own vermouth infusion using ingredients from our Vermouth Making Kit. Participants can choose from provided recipes or create their own unique blends. We can also craft bespoke recipes specifically for your event. At the end of the workshop, participants will take home their custom blend of vermouth botanicals, ready to infuse into alcohol over two weeks with our provided instructions.

Workshop Plan

We’ll arrive early to set everything up and walk you through the workshop process.

  • Introduction: As participants arrive, we'll discuss the history of vermouth, its different types, and their unique flavours. We'll provide samples of various vermouths for tasting to help participants understand the nuances.
  • Recipe Selection: Participants will familiarise themselves with the different ingredients and choose a vermouth recipe. They can use one of our recipes or create their own blend.
  • Blending: Participants will blend their chosen ingredients into small cotton bags, ready for infusing.
  • Support: Our team will be available throughout the workshop to assist anyone who needs help.
  • Wrap-Up: Participants will leave with their vermouth blend in a cotton bag. They’ll need to infuse it in a bottle of inexpensive alcohol for around two weeks, following our instructions. We'll stay behind to tidy up and debrief the workshop with you.

Who Is the Workshop For?

This workshop is perfect for anyone who enjoys a good Negroni or Martini! It's ideal for cocktail lovers eager to create new, delicious drinks with their own homemade vermouth. It's a fun and unique activity with tasty results. Homemade vermouth also makes a fantastic gift, making this workshop perfect for occasions like Valentine’s Day or Father’s Day.

This workshop is suitable for beginners: no prior knowledge is required.

Provided Tools and Materials

We provide most of the necessary items for the workshop:

  • Vermouth ingredients
  • Cotton infusing bags
  • Cotton filter and metal sieve

Participants will need to supply their own inexpensive wine to infuse their recipes and a clean container for the infusion, such as a mason jar or the original wine bottle.

Requirements

Please note that, as this workshop involves alcohol, it is not suitable for minors or pregnant individuals. We require a space with enough tables and chairs for everyone.

  • When?

We offer workshops and events any day of the week, including weekends, from 9 AM to 11 PM. This flexibility means we can accommodate almost any schedule! Whether you want a quick one-hour session or a more extended event, we’re here to make it work for you. For larger events we can also run workshops back to back so everyone can have a go.

  • Where?

Our cozy studio in Chiswick is unfortunately not suitable for hosting workshops. Instead, we bring the workshop to you! You'll need to provide us with a suitable space we can use for the workshop. We’re based in West London but can travel anywhere within the city. If your event is outside London, we'll include transportation and any necessary accommodation in your quote.

  • Quotes and Fees

Our quotes are based on the materials needed, time worked, and any potential travel and accommodation. We strive for transparency and will discuss the quote with you to ensure it meets your expectations.

We typically ask for half the payment upfront to cover the necessary tools and materials. The remaining balance is due after the workshop is completed.
